Ocean Views Resort - Terms & Conditions

By booking accommodation with Ocean Views Resort (OVR) you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Cancellation Policy

  • Booking cancellations outside of 7 days of arrival date, a full refund will be granted with no fees.
  • Booking cancellations within 7 days of arrival date, the guest will forfeit their full accommodation amount.
  • In peak season, above cancellation policy will be altered to 28 days notice.
  • For Group Cancellations: All groups must inform us 28 days prior to arrival of any cancellations/date changes. Group deposits are non-refundable.  

OVR Management will treat all cancellations and amendments on a case-by-case basis.    

Deposits / Tarrifs and Payments

  • Tariffs are subject to change without notice.
  • Groups - $500 non-refundable deposit must be paid at time of booking to secure rooms. Balance paid via Invoice due on departure.
  • Individual Bookings - Booking total is taken in full as room deposit within 7 days prior to arrival date from card details provided at time of booking - cancellation terms above apply.
  • We do not accept CASH payments at Ocean Views Resort.

If we are unable to process the final balance, Ocean Views Resort will contact the guest via contact details given at the time of
booking. You will have an additional 24 hours to contact us to confirm final payment otherwise the booking will be released, and
any deposit lost in full.

Early Departures / No Shows

  • No refunds/credits will be given for early departures. Total amount/deposit will be kept by OVR as a 'early departure fee'. 
  • If you fail to travel or are a 'no show' for your accommodation booked date, total amount/deposit will be kept by OVR as a 'no show fee'.

Date Changes

  • Changing of dates can be altered subject to availability and at the discretion of OVR Management.
  • Any guest booking via a third-party online agent will not be permitted changes directly with the resort, the third-party online agent must action any changes.
  • Accommodation rates will also be adjusted accordingly to reflect new dates.

Security Bond / Pre-Authorisation and Check-In Requirements

  • Identification will be required on check-in.
  • When you check in, we will require a credit card pre-authorisation against your card for an amount of $300. This requests your bank to guarantee that a future charge against that amount will be possible. Your bank will place a hold on these funds so that it can make that guarantee. This authorisation is used as a bond to guarantee payment for any charges placed onto your room account, and for charges such as breakages or excess cleaning.
  • Who holds this bond?
    The pre-authorisation will create a pending charge in your account. Although the amount is frozen and not available to be used, the actual money is never transferred to us, it is just held by your bank. This pre-authorised amount will usually be shown on your statement as a pending transaction like "Pending - Ocean Views Resort", but sometimes nothing is shown.
  • Charges to the bond?
    If we make a charge to the credit card after you have departed (whether we have a pre-authorisation or not), we will always send you an updated statement showing the charge and payment with an explanation of why the charge was necessary.
  • Who releases this bond?
    For more than 99% of our guests, there is no need to charge your card after checkout.

    In most cases, the feature allowing us to cancel this authorisation is provided by the card and bank, and we will release this pre-authorisation within 7 days of your departure. After it is released, there is usually nothing on your statement to show that the hold was taken and released.

    If the ability to release the hold is not supported by your bank or card, it will remain on your account until it expires. In this case, the period taken to release the funds is determined solely by your bank and may be up to 30 days.
  • It hasn’t been released
    If you can still see an entry on your statement like "Pending - Ocean Views Resort", the pre-authorisation has not yet been released. If it has been more than a 7 days since you departed, please contact us and we will investigate. Sometimes it is possible to manually request your bank to release the funds. If your bank requires us to email or fax them information prior to them releasing the funds, please provide us with all of the details that they require and we will be happy to do so.

Dirty Departures / Damages

  • Guests are required to leave the apartments in a reasonably tidy manner or extra cleaning fees may be charged at the discretion of Management (Fees of up to $300.00 AUD may apply).
  • Guests will be held liable for any damage to, or losses in the apartment and extra fees required to return the unit to the original state.

Requests / Unit Allocations

Ocean Views Resort will endeavour to grant any requests for stay and/or unit allocation requests made by the guest, however
these requests are always subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Additional Accommodation Conditions

  • LOCKOUTS: A $30 fee will apply for any lockouts outside of the reception operating hours.
  • LOST KEYS: A $150 fee will apply for any lost keys/security fobs (per set of keys).
  • SMOKING: A $250 fee will be charged if the unit has any signs of smoking observed inside.
  • PARKING: Parking onsite at Ocean Views Resort is free of charge and is done so at the vehicle owners’ own risk. OVR Management accepts no responsibility. Any vehicles not able to utilise their car space for any reason are welcomed to take advantage of the FREE Street Parking on Centaur Street and Omrah Avenue next to our resort.
  • NO PARTY POLICY: We do not tolerate parties or excessive noise from units disrupting other guests/residents.
  • NO PET POLICY  - As per government legislation, guests accompanied by a certified Assistance Animal must comply with the identification procedure. This includes always having the approved identity card available for inspection and ensuring the animal is wearing an identifying coat. Queensland Health guidelines apply to our Resort operations. Please note that Assistance Animals are not allowed in swimming pools. Whilst they are allowed to enter the facility, they may not enter the water.
